Thanks for the help with organization interview to Wrasserecords.

*Interview was done in April 2014.

The beginning.

"When I was forced to quit soccer, I felt a kind of void in my heart. I lost my only aim in life and just felt empty. I did have fun messing around and getting into trouble with my friends, but in the back of my mind was this constant question, ‘What’s this going to lead to? What’s the point?’ And one day, I casually suggested to my friends that we form a band, and that’s when I decided to learn the guitar.

I just remember the moment when I first picked up the guitar and played some notes… In my head, an image popped up. I was playing the guitar in front of millions of people, like in the largest festival on earth. So it didn’t take me very long to figure out that guitar was my thing".

Rough times.

"Picture. Not abstractive. It gets you motivated and lets you enjoy the process you are going through even if it's tough. Even if you think you are in a bad situation, what you experience through the course might even help you in the end. If you have a goal, you can bear just about anything, right? Just believing what you do".

Tattoo: “The Self is Most Righteous in All of Heaven” (tenjotenge yuigadokuson).

"I was at a such a low point then, I felt like I wanted to die. To escape, I went to Okinawa by myself. I was sleeping rough on the beach and got bitten on the nose by a mosquito. My nose swelled up to about twice its normal size, and it was painful, very itchy, and weirdly comical. I looked like such an idiot, I just started laughing to myself. At that moment my worries about my band just seemed so insignificant and silly, and that was when I decided to get the tenjotenge yuigadokuson tattoo...I still really like it".

Inspiration.

"From everyday life! And everybody around me including my fans and my family".

Premonition?

"I don’t think I’m living an unusual life, lol

I was dreaming to become a professional soccer player, but I gave up because of the injury I got on my leg. So, you never know. Just keep doing your best.

I just wanna smile when I die ;)".

Credo.

"Learn from anything that happens in my life. Thirst for improvement".

Challenge.

"If I’m going to do something, I want to be No.1. And the more I travel overseas, the more aware I become of my own Japanese-ness, and I learn a lot about the world and myself. But being in Japan and complaining about this and that is useless. Nobody is going to change things for you. If you want to change the world around you, you first have to change yourself."

Dreams.

"Having a dream is an integral factor in life and it gives you motivation to step forward. But you can't keep dreaming in your entire lifetime. Eventually the sun's up and morning comes".

Goals.

"My Japanese spirit will never change. I am trying to make my musical style and songwriting more simple and universal, and I want to keep traveling the world to places where I feel I have a connection with people, and grow together with my audience. I believe that music has the power to transcend differences in race and culture, and I want to make crowds all over the world dance to my guitar".
